The Accelerate State Tutoring Fellowship will foster collaboration, innovation, and shared expertise among state tutoring program leaders representing a range of geographic regions and backgrounds.
Nashville, Tenn., (August 27, 2024) – To address the challenges faced by state leaders implementing high-dosage tutoring initiatives and enhance the effectiveness personalized learning strategies, Accelerate – The National Collaborative for Accelerated Learning will partner with Education Commission of the States (ECS) to launch the Accelerate State Tutoring Fellowship. Programming will draw upon learnings from Accelerate’s work supporting state education agencies to develop policy and implementation frameworks for statewide tutoring and broader K-12 education topics.
“ECS is proud to work with Accelerate to create a network dedicated to collaboration and scaling best practices for high-dosage tutoring,” said José Muñoz, ECS president. “As Accelerate and ECS coordinate this fellowship, state tutoring leads will have a much needed space to share ideas and ultimately increase the quality and impact of tutoring in states across the country.”
By participating in the fellowship, members will:
- Contribute to the broader mission of enhancing educational outcomes through high-dosage tutoring
- Gain access to a professional network of peers facing similar challenges
- Receive timely updates on research, funding opportunities, and policy developments
- Collaborate on strategies to sustain and grow high-dosage tutoring programs
- Share best practices and new solutions to common issues
The Fellowship marks the first formalized network for state tutoring leads to build a coalition and community of practice. A cohort of state tutoring program leads will be announced this fall after an invitational selection process. The program will launch in October 2024 and conclude in summer 2025.
