We are thrilled to announce the kick-off of Accelerate’s 2024-25 Community of Practice (CoP) last week. This year’s CoP marks a significant step forward in our collective efforts to advance personalized learning and high-dosage tutoring across the nation.
Opening Remarks
The event commenced with inspiring remarks from Dr. Christina Grant, Executive Director of Harvard’s Center for Education Policy Research and Accelerate Board Member. Dr. Grant emphasized the critical importance of building evidence of impact and making a compelling case for high-dosage tutoring in districts, states, and across the country. Her words set the tone for a year of collaborative learning and action.
New Structure: Three Focused Strands
This year, we’re excited to introduce a new structure for our CoP, centered around three key strands:
- National Landscape: Focusing on the intersection of national PK-12 education policy, research, and practice.
- Coherence and Alignment: Exploring topics that shape the conditions for implementation, sustainability, and scale within public educational systems.
- Implementation: Building capacity for current grantees to successfully implement programs, execute evaluations, and deliver project goals.
This structure is designed to deliver tailored content for different roles within participating organizations, including CEOs, executive directors, academic researchers, content creators, program managers, and data leads. By doing so, we aim to foster deeper engagement on role-specific topics across current and alumni grantee organizations.
Looking Ahead
Our Community of Practice will function as an essential forum for deepening our shared knowledge of personalized learning and its application across diverse learning ecosystems. We look forward to a year of learning, growth, and collective impact as we work together to significantly advance student learning through effective tutoring practices.
